Westwardsalmon?
Okay, so...apparently there is this bot/hacker thing going around that is focused on LJ. I posted in my journal and then all of a sudden this IM popped up from a WestwardSalmon being all like "Uh, hi. Who are you?" and I was like "...Ally, who's this?" and they were like "Why did you im me?" and I replied "...I didn't? You imed me." and they said "No, I just got an im like 20 minutes ago."
And it totally didn't make any sense because I'd never seen the sn in my life! So I googled it, hoping I could come up with something and there were all these journal posts and stuff about people who'd gotten ims from a WestwardSalmon or RestrainedSalmon and it ended up being a bot hacker thing that took the sn's from the LJ users profiles and iming each simultaneously from each other and forwarding the responses. They don't see the others actual sn, but the Salmon oriented one.
I figured this out after the other person went away so I'm sure it just seems to them like I was a crazy fish oriented person stalker or something. That's unfortunate. But I figured I'd pass the warning along, my LJ friends.
