You never realize how short life can be until you witness loss up close. Life gives you the illusion that you have all the time in the world, and then the next thing you know, it's swept right out from under you.

I had only talked to her Wednesday.

She hadn't even begun to live yet, she had her entire life ahead of her. She didn't even get to see her diploma she worked 13 hard years for. How many more friends must I see not even pass the first real stages of their lives? They deserve so much more, they deserve more time.

There is no closure, not really.

I can't even go home to give a proper goodbye. But then again, there are no proper goodbyes, no real farewells, only more illusions that make you believe that there's some closure.
