all this entry is, is the blatent analyazation of a film because i had nothing better to do. oh yeah it may be a spoiler?... so dont read it if your have something better to do. its pretty random and shit

the movie, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is about half over right now.  it does a very good job with the flashbacks and leading in and out of them. the director did well with the ways he expressed things throughout. for instance, when clementine was leaving after joel offended her, he showed, i guess, joels confusion by having her appear around the room, while having him looking lost and scared/regretful, and her not accepting it.   more over, as they are erasing his memory, his memories seemlessly (kind of) blend to the present, then later the characters doing the erasing tie the memory to the present, subtly reffering to viewer back to earlier in the movie so that the memory can have more meaning, or foreshadowing to things comming later.  now, ill be saying things seemingly at random, but im commenting on the film as it progresses.  in the flashbacks, he also interacts with them from his current standings, this is maybe him justifying his means for the erasing. also i just realized (i think) that the movie does one of those thing, like in fight club, where it shows later in the movie first.  the dent in his door he thinks is caused by the car next to him, but is explained by showing him reversing away from the hydrant after clem. crashed into it while in the flashback. he doesnt know the hydrant did it, while in the flash forward, because the dent was inflicted in the time that he had erased. in one memory he says "look at it out here, its all falling apart" i guess that is the memory being experianced as it is being erased, as he adds commentary to him self and remembers it the best he can as it falls into oblivian.  his memories are actually re-lived as they are brought up to be erased. darkness and blue are used alot to convey the feeling of lonly ness and depression

oh yeah, this is all my interpretation as the movie goes along (every thought that pops in my head about it as it progresses)(i should've probably written this once the movie is finished in order to fully grasp the plot)

"constantly talking, isint necissairly communicating" i thought that quote was neat

i hate the girl in it, she bitches too much

at one point he regains unconcious conciousness, where hes pretty much living in his head from where he left off as they started to erase his brain, except now (i think) hes stuck in one memory in particular.  its very intresting how the director illustrated it as a dream. only having one spotlight on joel and clem, told that they are the subject with little background or foreground. he either took that route monotonus bland surrondings of random dark people, to keep the focus on joel and her, as you would be in a dream. the way he conveyed traveling to seeming random places, as, at least, i do in dreams, was to show him and her running in a hallway, the camera pointing at their faces as they run forward through the halls, occasionally showing a 2 or 3 second scene, which is another memory being brought up, incorporated as a break in the hall into the place that the memory was, only to continue running.

in the beginning (later in the movie when he looses his memory) he says im not impulsive, i dont know why i did this.   or something like that,   and again later in the movie, but earlier in the plot, clem says she is impulsive. i guess thats irony?

ok now im a bit lost, hes living some sort of mind-land purgatory where, now hes trying to awake himself... or somethign.clem. is there, but hes what he remembers her as, her personality, etc... and it just confused me. i think hes mashing memories from when they arent being erased to the ones hes living in now.

yep now its crazy, him and his memory of clem are traveling through his memories (right now of him being 4, except, jim carey (joel) is playing himself at 4, everything is proportioned, it looks 'awesome')

at one point, he sort of wakes up, (opens his eyes) and is still unconcious in reality, so they show the doctor and people crowding around him from his point of view of lying down on his back.  the scene is blurry from his pov. they give him a shot to re-sedate him, when they do, his view dimms and goes slowly back to normal. like an eye would after the body recieves pain or something unexpected. also, at this point they are taking him out of his past memories, because he got 'lost' on their brain map thing. theyre doing this to put him back on track, but hes trying to stray so that he can keep his memories of clem.  also, clem is beginning to remember joel, (oh yeha her memory was erased also, so thats why joel did it.), because patrick is bring them back on accidnet. ehhh i dont feel like explaining patrick (hmmm this has turned into more of a play by play than a movie review)

k i just finished it, theres parallelism (?) between the 2 realationships, i remember thinking. but any who. i dont feel like explaining the end of the movie, except for after he wakes up from being erased, it all goes shoooom at the end of it, where everything comes together. its hmm border (1-10) a 8.3 or less not incredible (thats probably cause i paused it like 30 times for 5 minuets at a time through out the whole thing) one thing i didnt like, was at the very very end where they were standing in the hall, it kinda ended on a strange note, with no definite ending. oh welll     and thats my terribly formatted review.  comment if you whant. and tell me what youve thought of the movie if youve seen it be-fo'
