POSITION AVAILABLE: Research Assistant
Full-time 35 hr. week
RESPONSIBILITIES: The research assistant will conduct research in support of advocates’ work related to federal and state consumer protections. Duties will also include writing, editing and formatting of brochures and reports, assisting in coordinating an annual conference and trainings, and assisting with general Center-related and administrative tasks. Tasks of this position may vary based on emerging organizational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree and one to two years of work experience preferred; an interest in doing research in the context of consumer protection advocacy; excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Internet research, experience with MS Word, spreadsheets, and Lexis/Nexis; reliable, accurate, self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and manage tasks on deadline; have the ability, experience and willingness to quickly assume more complex, short-term projects; demonstrated commitment to public interest preferred.
SALARY: $35,011 plus generous health, dental, and other fringe benefits including three weeks vacation.
