The recruits are making progress.
I am still ignoring the hopeless ones, and I even had to send another one to their ranks today. He had managed to hide his ignorance on important things from me previously.
I am still not sure that I will ever allow these recruits to be a part of a patrol. I do not want anyone to have to rely on their skills and ability to improvise, or even follow orders. *Glorfindel puts down the quill for a moment and sighs*
I will see what to make of them... but if I feel that they are not worthy of my efforts, or of being a part of Lord Elrond's forces, I will send them home again. I care not if their father's resent my actions. My loyalty lies with Elrond.
