Well, the interview apparently didn't turn out as badly as I thought. I had to call the HR person the day after the interview to find out the spellings of the names of everyone I met so that I could send 'em thank you notes. The HR lady said I did really well, actually, and got a great review. Well, yeah!!! Whoo-hoo!!! That's good news :-) I was in a fairly good mood on Friday eve as a result. I should hear something from them this week or early next week. Keep your fingers crossed!
This weekend was packed full of parties, food, and movies. YAY, movies!!! I got a good fill on them, although I'd like to see a few more. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith on dvd (which was cute), Memoirs of a Geisha (which was so beautiful, poignant, and gooooood!), and King Kong (which surprised me by how good it was). I think Memoirs followed the book pretty closely although they did cut out some of the little stories in the book; still, the meaning and feeling behind the book was definitely in the movie. Ah, tres romantique. And, I had had no real desire to see King Kong. I never saw the first one and I didn't know what the story was to begin with, but man, oh man, 3 and 1/2 hours never flew by so fast. The movie was full of adventure, romance, and was just mesmerizing. I agree with
ladybugginout ; I'm not sure how the girl in the movie kept her lipstick on throughout the entire movie. LOL. Many people asked if I had to go to the bathroom during...well, yes, I did. I should have gone during the bug scene (hint -- anyone going to the movie, the best restroom break is the bug scene) which was nasty and disgusting, and I had to cover my hands with my eyes. I even grabbed my friend's sister's hand from across a seat b/c I was so freaked out. I'm a grabber. Oh, and Adrien Brody. Wow. There was a scene where he was just wearing a towel and his chest was bare...mmm. Nice. My friend Katie in DC says she was reading an article about him in Men's Health. Apparently, the title to it is "From Scrawny to Brawny" and gives tips on how Adrien Brody buffed up for his movie role. Yeah, he was pretty nice to look at :-)
Hanukah was nice, as well. I went over to my friend's grandparents' house and got to try out oyster stuffing. Only I ran late b/c King Kong let out so late and I had to rush home, get Heidi walked and fed, and then had to run out the door again to dinner. I was not in a great mood and, to top it all off, my contact popped out of my left eye leaving me quite blind, and making me slow down in my car. I stopped on the side of the road to find the contact and put it back in, but it was just one more thing to top everything off! Nevertheless, the food was good, the company great, and I had a nice time the rest of the evening.
So, hmm, what else? Oh, yes, with
ladybugginout 's help, I rearranged my condo yesterday. Everything is in opposite locations (don't worry, not on the ceiling). It looks like I have more space in my place. My poor dog was a bit bewildered by the changes...but she still managed to find the couch at some point last night. I think I must have been kicking her or something in my sleep ;-) For some weird reason, while I was moving my furniture around, I managed to break 2 light bulbs and a little glass candle holder. I felt quite clumsy. Especially after having the contact pop out the night before.
I had dinner with my grandfather last night, too, and then hung out w/ both grandparents at their place for a little last night. I was asking my grandmother about her childhood, growing up, and all that. It was nice. When I got home, I spent a good 3 hours going through papers that I've dumped on my desk over the last year. I still have more to go through. ICK!
