Well, been a little while I guess, what's been going on...
Finished Uni for the year
Passed everything, hooray! Even did better than pass in some things, double yay!
I'm getting to the point where I'm sick of Uni, turns out 5 years does that to you... only 2 years left. Luckily a lot of that is prac :)
My first real prac went great, after watching a single lesson my supervising teacher decided that I was going so well that she didn't actually need to watch me anymore and just popped her head in every now and then, It was really interested seeing the differences in how the class worked with her in the room and without. I suspect that's an experience a lot of other students didn't (and perhaps shouldn'tve?) got. I learned a lot from the whole thing and am feeling a lot more confident about continuing :D
I received Christmas presents from 2 families of students and NONE of them gave me stupid cherry cake!!! (though it's not boxing day yet so maybe I should wait on that...) Ugh, back story on that, few years ago a family I hadn't seen in a while called me in to set up iPods the kids had got for Christmas. It was Boxing Day so I didn't really have a whole lot more I wanted to do besides a family thing in the evening so I decided I'd go and only charge regular tutoring rates when they asked for cost. The whole thing ended up taking a little longer than I thought it would. About 2-3 hours due to them having horrible computers, multiple iPods and me not being fluent in Apple. In the end instead of paying me they gave me a cherry 'stolen' cake. I don't like cherries. I don't like alcohol. The cake was up there in 'worst things anyone could ever give me. About 2 weeks ago I saw the exact cake in Aldi for $6. Apparently my public holiday rates of computing expertise is $2/hour!!!!! Sigh........... So yeah, long story short, I don't tutor them anymore :P
What else has been going on... Hmmm... Oh, went to a Maths Teaching conference and I think I might decide to present next year on Pi or computers or something.... Not sure yet. Seems like it might be fun :) Could also be quite good for my career :D
I would say that the last month of mine has been mainly characterised by the song "Libera Me From Hell" - Iwasaki Taku. "Row Row Fight the Power" Had some pretty tough times lately and that's been what's pulled me through (go figure :S)
Well, that's mostly everything that I'm happy to post online, the rest is either classified or about the SUPER SECRET PROJECT!!! that shall be released within the next weeks hopefully :D I'm pretty excited about that one :D
