The seven-year streak of pure blind luck is over. And oh, was it pure and was it blind.
I finally got into my first car accident (where I was driving). It was very minor, no injuries. The worst damage was the loss of my driver side mirror. The glass is gone. The frame is cracked, and the wiring is fucked up so everything's going to have to be replaced. I feel... crippled. But other than that, it's all good. I have no idea whether or not I'm going to be found at fault for this. Honestly, I don't know how the hell it happened and I don't see how I am legitimately to blame for it, but I have no faith in the insurance company. They're bitches with dumbass rules that care dick-all about what's fair or right. I got the shitty end of the deal already, because the other guy was driving a 1988 Ford Ranger. If fault comes out fifty-fifty or more in his direction, I doubt it'd be worth it for him to pay the deductible just to have his truck fixed. On the plus side, I was totally prepared for this, so I was barely phased by the whole thing. I went to work and breezed through my day just fine. Better than fine! Then I came home, watched the Canadians win gold and the Canucks just barely eke out a victory over the Blackhawks. But we won, which is good enough for me!
