Yay for PayDay

I felt like I was playing the game of LIFE today. I got my first paycheck today for 2 weeks worth of teaching. Now I get it direct deposited but we all still get our envelopes with all the info in them. Well when I got mine and I saw that it was more than I thought it would be I flipped. Let's just say I can pay for rent and my utilities all in one pay check and probably have a little left over and then I still get a second paycheck for the month. God having a real job does have its perks ;-P

So how was my first week of school. Let's recap on the grades that I did see so far.

K-2 at Lincoln is going to be great. All the classes have less than 20 students and we'll work together just fine.

6 - The one class that I saw yesterday was terrible. I was warned that they were awful last year so expect the worst and well I got it. I hope the second section is better for me next week because these kids were awful.

5 - Saw one section so far and they were...ok. I can tell they mean well but they are too talkative. This is definitely a class that will need to have assigned seats so we can accomplish anything really.

4 - OMG they were so good. I saw them first thing this morning and I loved, loved, LOVED them. They listened, they wanted to learn, and we had a fun time.

3 - I haven't seen my third grades yet so thats yet to be determineed

2 - The section I saw yesterday was my favorite class. They came in, sat, down, smiled, and gave you the look of "I'm ready. Teach me!" They made my heart melt. The class I saw today was pretty good too. I think they just need to get use to me, but both should be great.

Multiage - This is first and second combined together. They needed assigned seating today. I couldn't get a word in edgewise with them. They've got great personalities but they need to find a way to stiffle some of their energy. Not all because I can't have slugs in school.

1 - Just awful. I was told that these kids were the worst Kindergarten class they've EVER had in the history of Madill Elementary and boy did they live up to that. We'll see how they are on Monday for me.

K - I've only seen one out of my FOUR kindergarten classes and they weren't that bad. They're young and still getting use to school. I think it's all about adjusting.

So all in all its not too terrible. Hand chimes (yes I get to teach hand chimes!) and my choruses will start next cycle. I can't wait but I have no clue what we're going to do in Chorus. Oh well, we shall see what I can come up with this weekend.

So Classic weekend was A-MA-ZING! I had so much fun singing the National Anthems and it felt good too. I was worried that something would go wrong but nope it was awesome. My favorite race car driver won. He's got the fastest car on the track and started in the pole position (first spot) but fell back early because he doesn't like to start there. It was a 200 lap race and for the first 120 laps he was steady in 6th place, but then made his move and by the end of the race had lapped all but 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. There were like 40 super modifieds on the track in the beginning of the race and Greg lapped most of them. He's so good.

The greatest part of the weekend were the guys my sisters and I met from Ohio. OMG they were gorgeous but fun, and real guys for once. We had a blast drinking and bowling Saturday night and then drinking at the bowling alley Sunday before we went to the parties at the campgrounds by the Speedway. This girl was out partying until 4:45am! I'm never out that late. Sure I've stayed up that late but not out. It was so much fun. I was hanging out with one guy named JR (Junior) who's real name is Bret and well we had a great time getting to know each other. I even got a kiss or 2 out of it by the end of the night. Too bad he lives in Amherst, Ohio. Silly boys. But it was great.

Let's see, I bought a washing machine which will be delivered on Tuesday, I also bought a couch which was delivered today and I LOVE it! And I joined the women's bowling league here in town. Their bowling alley sucks, its so old school. Let's just say that I'm going to have to adjust A LOT, my game was so off Wednesday night. It really was sad. And Sunday I'm joining the church choir at the Cathedral up here. We actually have a Cathedral, where a Bishop lives. Ogdensburg has a bishop. This little hole in the center of nowhere. I'm so use to the Diocese of Syracuse and now its the Diocese of Ogdensburg. Crazy.

Well now that I've rambled on forever, giving a real update, I suppose I could be a little productive and do some of the unpackign that hasn't happened yet. Please contact me people. It's lonely up here, though I am pushing my way into the "scene". I've been told that the ratio guys to girls is 25:1 and since I'm the new girl in town I better watch out because guys will flock and most of them I won't want to come fly with me. Silly hick town and me fitting right in ;-p
