Applying to Graduate School

Oct 06, 2009 18:25

I just asked my boss for a recommendation letter for my graduate school applications. He gave me an enthusiastic yes, and then asked if I was looking at a two year masters.

There was an uncomfortable moment where I revealed that I was aiming for a PhD.

Anyway, he's cool with it. Of course, he wants me to keep working through school if I have any time. I'm dubious.

So I have three recommendations lined up. Now I need to make a personal statement. Why would I be a great graduate student?

Any advice from from folks who have gone through this process?
