Okay…I really am bad at posting and stuff. But I am trying. I really am going to try to make it all the way this year.
So, since I am posting, I’ll take these few moments to comment on my life. I’m not dead yet. Okay, comment aside, on to the advent. I did promise an actual story summary. Since I’m lazy, and have not done it yet, this summary really is going to be a short one. I hope it still makes sense though.
And yes, please give me a title for this story. It's a retelling of The Light Princess. and I can't think of a good title.
Lamp and Tench follow a river up and run into a guy who is soaking wet and grumbling to himself about a girl while he is drying off.
The guy says "I wish I knew what to do"
So, Lamp goes and asks him what's wrong.
The guy actually doesn't tell them anything. He apologizes for talking outloud. But Lamp is being a little persistent. Eventually they follow the guy who is trying to give them directions to the nearest city which is actually a captial city of a kingdom.
The guy (after a bit of friendly talk) finally seems to open up a little and introduces himself as a prince of a kingdom who was betrothed to the princess of this kingdom. There is some discussion of what it is like to be engaged to a complete stranger.
Well, the prince explains that when he first met the princess, she had been swimming and he thoguht she had been drowning. Needless to say he got chided for trying to save her. He says that in the time he has spent with the princess he has actually grown to like a part of her. Whenever she swims.
The prince finally explains that the princess has a curse on her and it makes it difficult for him to deal with her on land. Trench opens his mouth and says that Lamp is good at dealing with curses. (Lamp mumbles that he's only really done it once). But Lamp does say he's willing to help.
So, the prince figures they've tried everything else so it can't hurt to let Lamp at least make a suggestion.
While walking to the palace they basically run into the princess who is....floating. The princess is pretty much attached to a leash being pulled along by her ladies in waiting to keep her from floating away. Lamp takes her hand and then comments that there is something odd about the spell on her.
Eventually Lamp and Trench are told the full story. How the princesses aunt had been involved in witchcraft and the king had not know that his sister had even been in town (since she had left) when the princess was born. The aunt (who is slightly mental) cursed the princess to always be light. As such, the princess can never take anything seriously and has been floating since she was a child. There have been some scares about her almost floating away.
The only time the princess has had gravity or has been serious has been in the water. Aside from having her permenently in the water, everyone has run out of ideas. After some guessing, it is suggested that in order to break the curse, the princess needs to cry (or in other words, be serious out of the water). They try all sorts of sserious situations and nothing seems to work.
Well, the crazy aunt finds out how much the princess likes the water and decides to dry out the entire land.
Well, the lack of water bothers the princess, but not enough to get her gravity back. the lack of water though, really worries Trench. So he goes to figure out how the water is draining from the lake. Lamp yells at him to come back because something doesn't feel right. As the lake goes to rock bottom, Trench is freaking out because he's caught in the pull of the hole at the bottom of the lake that is draining the lake.
The prince is a really good guy and doesn't hesitate to go running in to help Trench. Lamp would have gone but the moment he steps into the mud of the drained lake he stops (basically he's sensing the magic that's causing the problems and it's a ltitle overwhelming).
Well, something happens to the prince as he helps Tench get unstuck. Basically the prince gets sucked into the hole, but then the lake starts to fill out while Trench tries to help the prince, covering both with water. The Princess gets into the filling lake and swims over to try to help them out. Lamp does something to keep the lake from draining again as Trench and the princess resurface with the unconcious prince.
It seems that the prince is near death and probably not going to survive. The princess gets out of the water and demands that someone does something. She is told there really isn't much they can do. Trench knows a little bit about drowning so he does what he can to force the water out of the prince's lungs. Eventually the prince starts breathing again. The princess is so happy that she starts to cry and falls out of the air and regains her gravity.
The princess learns how to walk with gravity and everything turns out pretty good for everyone. Trench and Lamp then continue on with their lovely journey.
