I throw down the gantlet and call forth the Summer Story Challenge.
(as soon as I figure out the details)
Basically, you set a story related goal that you try to achieve before the end of summer. Not just any goal, but one that will be difficult to do in a month. It is a goal that will push you. Like the time I tried to write ten chapters in about four months. Didn't happen, but I got to 7.
I don't know what exactly counts as the end of the summer. Let's say the last day of August. That's about three months. So, everyone who accepts has three months to complete their goal. So make it something you have to work for. Maybe even have more than one. It is a goal you want to achieve, not one I am giving you. Unless you want to do this and can't think of anything. Trust me, I can come up with some really interesting goals/story-premises for you.
I will post my goal(s) for everyone so people can nag me about how it is going. ^_^
1. Finish the recipe book I said I would do (not exactly story but I do need to get it done)
2. Write two chapters of my story (I may just end up rewriting the first chapters because things have changed. Or I may write the last chapter just because.)
3. Make a list of fairy tales I plan on retelling in my newly created world of Second Hand Fairytales (I have a good idea, but I think I should put them in order.)
Oh, and you do not need to be as ambitious as me. I'm just crazy and am including in my goals some things I do need to get done, and then things I want to do. I may reach my goals. You never know.
Now....spread forth the challenge my faithful story craving minions. After all, the more people who share in writing, the more powerful plots become. ^_^
