Women's Week

Mar 17, 2009 13:56

Women's Week is next week. There are a lot of really interesting events going on, so check out the calendar of events to see if there is anything that you would be interested in going to. You can pick up a calendar of events at the Women's Studies office in BB 108 as well as various locations around campus (Student Center, etc.). You may also ask me for one and I would be happy to set up a time to meet you.

I would like to highlight some topics which are often misunderstood or not talked about:

On Monday, March 23 from 12-1 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building (Art Museum building) is a talk about Fibromayalgia.

On Tuesday, March 24 from 4-5 p.m. in the David Letterman Building is a showing of the "State of Assault" documentary about sexual assault and the criminal justice system. It is a short documentary, relating the stories of two survivors and the processes in the criminal justice system.

On Friday, March 27 from 12-1 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building (Art Museum building) is a discussion/panel about men doing feminist work.

Other related events that you may be interested in:

Sunday, March 29 at 12 p.m. - "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes, A Men's March to Stop Rape and Sexual Assault"
Tuesday, March 31 at 8 p.m. - Composition Recital: "Gender: Questioning the Compulsory Identity"
