For those of you who have graduated, can you recommend a good place to consolidate private loans with that you've had good experiences with? We need to get my fiancee AWAY from Sallie Mae - they are ruining his credit and his life. Thank you very much! We finally got his Stafford Loans consolidated away through the government at least. :)

Agreed! It has had nothing but trouble with them. First of all, he shouldn't have been able to take as much out in loans as he did but that's another story/his fault. Second, they have more than once taken money out of his bank account with asking him, one time was the same day he called and arranged a payment with them to make later that week.

Private loans are death, regardless of the company. Given the fact that the feds are the only ones who are consolidating anything at this point, unless he has stellar credit and can get one loan to cover all the private loans it's not very likely to happen at all.
