Damn! I want to live in New York City!

I think that image has got be one of the finest ever captured on film. It's from Woody Allen's black and white masterpiece Manhattan which I just recently rewatched last week. I love it all. I think it's a grand follow-up to Annie Hall. The story, the music (oh the music), all of it just made me then and makes me now want to move to New York City. And although we know that the Tracy/Isaac relationship cuts a little too close to the director's life, it's still quite interesting. It transcends that awkward feeling of her being 17 and him being 42.

Speaking of Woody, as the magazine addict I've been for like ever, I've noticed that magazines, especially fashion-oriented ones, love celebrating the anniversary - 20th, 30th - of Annie Hall. In the past few months, NYLON did two different responses to the anniversary, Glamour did another. I don't mind it exactly, but now I know when to expect it. Every year that ends in 7, one should expect the Annie Hall look to return.

And I only recently saw Match Point. jjfan3405 recommended to me. I don't know if I liked all that much. It wasn't very Woody in tone or characterization, it seemed like a blatant rip-off of A Place in the Sun but with a tennis slant and a more than a bit of Crimes and Misdemeanors. Was Jonathan Rhys-Meyers the Woody figure? Or was Scarlett? I'm leaning towards Scarlett.

Thoughts on these or any other Woody Allen films?
