I've been wondering about this for a while... From where does 'Aya despising Youji' come from? Any canon support?
I used to read a lot of WK fanfiction, and I know Youji very often would be written like a drunken idiot or a sex-obsessed cocksucker (or both), with Aya as the one disapproving of Youji's lifestyle (the most). Sometimes Youji would be written IC and still with Aya disapproving of his lifestyle.
I disagree that Youji isn't intelligent (first of all, he used to work as a private investigator), but this isn't what I want to write about, but that Aya doesn't give a rat's ass if Youji drinks, smokes, goes clubbing and has sex five times per day (and with five different partners). Aya doesn't treat Youji like a worthless shit, he doesn't call him a whore, or any other names. In the 21st episode Youji and Aya are pricks to each other, the situation is quite difficult-- yet Aya doesn't call Youji names. If Aya doesn't call Youji names when Aya-chan is in danger and Youji's lover is the reason, why would he call Youji names when Youji comes home drunk?
Aya gives Youji a disapproving look in the 3rd episode-- because Youji joined them on the mission when wounded, therefore unreliable. Aya punches Youji in the OVA, says Youji doesn't qualify to be Weiss-- because Youji let the targets go, went against Weiss. In First Mission he tells Youji to cancel the dates he planned on Christmas... because they interfere with the mission.
When does Aya show disapproval of Youji's actions outside of Weiss? He doesn't care and doesn't judge Youji as long as it's not about Weiss. Omi is more interested in Youji's private life, in Forever White even gets a bit bitchy.
