It was the first few weeks of our courtship and I had a paper the following day, but he
insisted that I put on a pretty dress and we were going out for a play.
We walked from my apartment in the city to the Arts Centre and then I realized that we were catching a Wild Rice production of Emily of Emerald Hill. Ivan Heng was the Emily, then. He was funny and a very gelek peranakan matriach.
It was a splendid night. Magical, perhaps.
The moment just before we fell into love. One would always remember!!
Then, just the Sunday past, we drove down to the Victoria Theatre to catch the same production. Except this time, it was the legendary Margaret Chan who was reprising her role after 25 years.
It was theatre at it's raw form. Minimal stage props and acting at it's best! This was a more serious Emily. One that is more pensive and reflective but has soo much soul in her delivery. It is like watching a legend perform.
D and I thought it was excellent. And a fantastic way to note the time that has passed! :)
And that night was extremely special cos we got to have a chat with her and she was so warm and lovely. Totally made my day.
Plus, we got to see the Victoria Theatre in it's original form before it starts its renovations!
Ahh all in all a very lovely date night with my awesome husband. :)
