I have tried for two days to register for my classes, I realized I needed to
work around the system. The problem with MyPCC is that it never works. There are times when you can register and times when you cannot. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do so for the Winter term. I called the registration office and they told me I would have to call the TSS office, which is what manages the MyPCC website. I would have had to wait until tomorrow to do so. The problem with that is on Monday, MyPCC will be overloaded with people registering for their classes or it will be temporarily shut down. I am glad I was able to register for my classes, they fill up really fast. You can’t wait for two days to register for a class, you have to do so on the first day. I am thankful that I was able to do so this weekend. If I hadn’t, I would have had to skip the Winter term, and I can’t do that.
I was frustrated when I couldn’t register for my Biology class. It said I needed to have taken Reading 115. I was placed into it, unfortunately that wasn’t enough. So, I registered for Reading 115 and decided to take Biology during the Spring term. I think it works out well because English 250, which I will take in Fall ’08, is not transferable. I want to take the ones that are transferable.
The whole point of going to PCC is so you will be able to transfer to a university and get your Bachelor’s degree. I don’t want to waste my father’s money. There are a lot of people who do that and they don’t feel guilty. I used to be like that and I felt awful when I realized what I did. It’s appalling how they feel about college. College is not a place to slack off. You can be lazy in High School and still graduate. In college, if you fail a course you will be put on probation. Most college students are not ambitious.
