My cousin gave me a box of ladoo, which is an Indian sweet. I love Indian sweets, especially gelabi. It was my birthday present, and I’m glad she gave it to me. I would rather have that than a t-shirt. I told dad I couldn’t do the dishes today, so he agreed to have mom do them. When I got home, it was 4:30 P.M. and my parents were leaving to visit the temple and my grandmother. I realized they weren’t going to come home until 8:00 P.M. Mom cooks at that time, so I decided to do the dishes, even though I had homework to do. My shirt got wet, so I had to change. I like getting naked with the curtains open. It’s something I do to tease the next door neighbor (I know how to turn men on).
At Sonam’s (my cousin) house, my dad’s other sister, Bua, and her husband were there. She did not talk to me. She spent her whole time talking to Shailesh. She hugged him but didn’t hug me. She didn’t even shake my hand! She just said, “Hello” and immediately started a conversation with my brother. Even when we were upstairs and chaachi (my cousin’s mother) was discussing my weight loss, Bua criticized my diet. She said, “American food is bad for you” even though I told her I had a healthy American breakfast every day. When I was whispering to Sonam that she could always ask me questions about boys, she was trying to listen in and was confused when she couldn’t hear what I was saying.
As me, Shailesh, Sonam and her siblings were leaving the house, I was angry and told Sonam: “Bua is a big fat bitch” and she certainly is!
When my parents came home, they didn’t even say thank you for doing the dishes. I find it quite rude that they didn’t do so. And I washed everything: Pots, plates, bowls, forks, spoons and knives!
