My family has two Christmas trees, our old tree and the tree someone gave the mom for Christmas, but I think I've mentioned that before. Anyway I was doing up the trees yesterday when the dad informed me that the big tree's base and second "stem" is lost forever. Arg! Not only that but most of our Christmas decorations seem to have disappeared off the face of the Earth.
I'm guessing they saw greener pastures and left me and the family high and dry this Christmas. Guess 'tis really is time to buy new ornaments. Any suggestions how our tree (or trees once I figure out a way to put up the big tree) should look?
Saw The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe movie on Friday. Wow! I've loved the series since I was kid and was soo excited to finally see it onscreen. Granted of course my faith in the Church was pretty strong then so I wasn't bothered by the biblical allusions, but now... let's just say I pretend not to see them. I won't spoil because I want to see the movie again and read the book again so I can compare. But for now, I say it's pretty faithful to the book. I can't wait until they do all 7 books and do The Last Battle, my absolute favorite in the series wherein sad things happen.
In the meanwhile I urge fans of the book to read False Jade over at
Fanfiction.net's C.S. Lewis page. It has a great and less harsh look into Susan's fate after Narnia. I forget who wrote it, but whoever it is, love your fic.
