Mini-break

For the longest time, it was as if fate or destiny or whatever was against me setting foot in Cebu. Everytime I was presented with the chance to visit the Queen City, some school or financial or health thing happens.

Well I've finally thwarted whatever Powers-that-Be kept me from seeing any place outside of Manila. I actually went to Cebu for the weekend. Let me explain why I wanted to go to Cebu. See, I've heard that Cebu was beautiful, so hey yay! Also everyone in the family has been to Cebu and I was the only left who hasn't been there.

This weekend the familyand I went to Cebu for a mini-vacation. The mom has a conference there and she had mileage miles that were expiring. So we decided that we'll go to Cebu accompany her for the weekend and tour me around the city. The mom is still in Cebu with the kuya since the kuya is basically living the life of a bum and only works at night on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

It was... okay. I wasn't expecting to have the time of my life. I mean it's only for the weekend and there's only so much you can do in the weekend. No beaches for me. But I did get to go bead shopping and got cheap deals for chandelier earrings. Ate amazing food. And saw Magellan's Cross. I felt cheated when I saw the cross. It was so small. Maybe I was expecting to see some sort of grand tourist place. It was just sitting there in front of the Basillica. It didn't seem as if the government is doing its best to make sure that people come and see it. They have to make the place look more "historical" or something and attract visitors. Even if the cross itself was so small and ungrand. But hey, it's history.
