So after a few near misses with the fireworks (one of the kwitis fell over and blasted on the ground, the expensive Dragon fireworks decided to blast over on the other side of the street), the family and I greeted New Year in the freezing air of Tagaytay.
2008 was one of those years that I really wanted to reach, mainly because it was ingrained in my mind four years ago how important 2008 was. So let's recap.
In 2008 I...
- graduated with a degree in Comparative Literature
- came really close to honors
- became employed
- gained about 20 pounds
- finally have the money to be able to buy stuff my parents absolutely will not give me
- realized how much I missed the family everytime there's a get together in Tagaytay and I was stuck at work
- competed in my last tournament ever, came soo close to breaking my Asians curse and really felt that my team deserved to be placed higher
- spent holidays with friends instead of family
- earned P1000 from a newspaper writing random articles
- watched entirely too much TV
In 2008 I did not...
- go back to ballet like I said I would
- clean my room, ever
- get myself organized
- finish the "Triumverate" (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand)
- find a relationship as I hung too much with non-straight people
In 2009 I really should aim to...
- stop complaining so much about work and find the silver lining in being a reporter
- find a way to be a little bit more organized in both my room and life
- seriously not care if I don't have boyfriend, because if you don't wait for it, it will come
- stop sassing the parents
- lose 10 pounds by the end of February and join a gym/pilates class which I will go to semi-religously
Yep, 2008 was great. Here's hoping for an even more wonderfulness 2009!!!
Happy New Year loves!
