Crap *shudders*
My loving laptop Toshi won't start-up. Something about a config file.
I swear I did not do anything to poor Toshi, but maybe there was a virus that my virus scan didn't see. Or that some file in the Temp folder is secretly a system file and I deleted it. Nothing and I swear nothing on the system tray or anything was touched, ever.
But but, my files, my thesis mats (thank God I've graduated or else my hissy fit last night would have been much much worse), my MUSIC, my videos and shit my whole life is in that laptop. I wants it back, and I want everything in it to be safe and ready for me to use them again.
Crazy at it sounds, say a prayer for my Toshi-kins and the stuff inside. Or if you feel weird praying for the safety of a machine, then pray for me and my sanity. Because if I lose these files I will go absolutely apeshit ballistic. I knew I should've backed up files but I decided to do it another day.
ETA: Toshi is back! Slightly program-less but all my files were recovered and backed-up. I had to re-download most of my programs, even java and flash but it's a good thing I kept the installers for some. I also now have more space than ever. But I will not take advantage, nopes.
