Craziness, tears, wasted people among others

For the past five days I've been balancing a tightrope. I didn't know when I would bitch and when I would be extremely happy.

PIDC was just so emotional, especially in the latter half. It was the first time that I really felt so sure that my team deserved to break. I felt it in the speeches that we gave and oh yes the indignation I had during that very bitter crucial round in which my speech deserved a 77 but was probably undermarked. So yes, I broke down during break night, and I barely even drunk anything (I still want that second and thrid tequila shot that I missed... sadness) mainly because of personal issues but also because it was unfair for my team. I never break in Asians but this is something I want to change very soon because I am leaving very very soon. I really do hope my funding issue works itself out. I want to go to AUDC and show them that I can break this "curse" I have with Asians.

Overall, PIDC was amazing. Sure there was that long walk but it was better than making participants walk from EEE to CAL knowing the hot sun and the cars will kill them. And on behalf of the BOD we thank all of the participants, volunteers and alumni who made the trek to UP. We were very scared going into the tournament that something bad might happen and thankfully it did not. Although we all wanted UPD-A to be in the finals it was not so. Rest assured this only makes UPDS fight harder for that championship.

So, congratulations to ADMU-C! It must have been difficult to know that you were going up against your team A for the championship but you gave a good fight.

Congratualtions as well to the rest of the BOD and to all the other people who helped out on the organizing part. Thanks for being there during the weekend and the holiday just for debate. See you all PIDC 2009!!!!

On the acads side, I am definitely not graduating cum laude.

And as much as I am disappointed, I look back at my college years and say that it does not matter. Because of college I was able to compete alongside the best debaters in Asia as well as in the World. Travel to other countries with my friends and learned the value of reading up on things. I met really amazing friends that don't look at me funny whenever I mention the word slash and accept my weird quirks. Graduating with honors would not be able to compare with the experiences I have had with UPDS and UPLF.
