This was one of the best weekends I've had in a very long time!
Wes came in at like 3 on Friday morning and it was soo good to see him. After some sleep I took him on an extended tour of El Paso, including the Hal Marcus Art Gallery which, I must say, is completely amazing. His artwork inspires me like no other and it is such a cool way to learn about El Paso history! That night we went out to eat with two of the families that I have grown up with (for those of you at UNT you may remember the two Seans that came to see Mattress- their families). It was really fun. The rest of that night was not so fun though. We totally had the chance to go the street festival in Juarez and we didn't take it just so we could go to a hookah bar (hooka? hukah? eh...) that we didn't even end up going to! BAH! Boo for boring nights.
The next day was better though. We went to Juarez to get presents for my brother to take to the people he's staying with in Argentina this semester and also bought some awesomely inexpensive vodka and tequila. (party when I get back Steph! *dancing here*) Oooh and I also bought some wine glasses for us. They were so cheap I couldn't pass it up. After Mexico we hit up good ol' Chicos Tacos. We came home, rested, and decided on some songs for upcoming auditions. That night Wes and I went out on a date, awww, and went to this amazing Mexican restaurant called Barrigas. Later we went out with Cam and had a crazy ol' time. At midnight I made Wes tell me what he was getting me. Tickets for Wicked! It made my life. And a book of awesome auditions songs. He's so sweet.
The next day was MY BIRTHDAY! We went to mass, and then out to eat with my grandparents on my dad's side, and then Wes and I had a shopping excursion at American Eagle. (Wes picked out a new polo shirt- it looks hot) When we got home I opened presents from my family and I got stuff for my apartment and a digital camera! I am so freaking excited. It's so cute. Later we saw War of the Worlds with my other grandmother. It's actually not horrible, I liked it as much as I will ever like crazy sci-fi action movies. After we met the rest of my family and Edgar and Sean for sushi! I am on a sushi kick right now, I just can't get enough. It was really fun, especially afterward when we went to TCBY! Later Wes and I tried to meet Lauren and Tessa at Music Under the Stars but the entire concert is so freaking short, like an hour long, so we completely missed it. Oh well, we did get to go to Scott's house where I got to see some people that I haven't seen in forever. And I decided that Jackson Jordan is one of my favorite people of all time.
All in all it was a very very good birthday. I got lots of calls, livejournal messages (including an Ariel picture from Chrysta and a brilliant birthday poem from Steph!) and 34 messages on facebook. 34. It made me feel very loved. I heart my friends.
Wes left today after going to Barnes N Nobles to buy some cast recordings for the road. I bought The Boyfriend and Marry Me a Little (and absolutely love the latter) while Wes bought a William Finn cd. We went to eat at Cheddars and then he had to go :(
I'm pathetic but I miss him already. I will get to see him this weekend though, along with Stephanie and Dustin! We're going to see his Les Mis on Saturday (and we WILL keep in mind that it's a kids' show Dustin, haha, just for you) I can't wait to be back in D-town!
