I found an apartment!
It's literally 5 minutes in the car from work........ including stop signs and traffic lights! It's a bit more than I wanted to pay, but hopefully it will work out. It's month-to-month (which I'm happy about) and they're not concerned about Leonardo kitty! It's 1 BR/1BA with 2 big closets, a HUGE kitchen, washer/dryer in unit... AND a small den! Oh, and also a 1 car enclosed garage. It is on the 3rd floor, so moving is going to be a pain, but at least I will be OUT of Walnut Terrace and on to my new life.
Most people aren't even getting my new address. If you do want it, let me know and I'll be happy to give it to you. Probably. ;-)
I got the keys today. There are 5 keys: Front entrance, mailbox, front door, bedroom door, back door. Eek. It's an older building with 6 units only -- my landlord converted the 2 bottom units into his living quarters and rents out the top 4 units. He's 87 years old and smaller than I am. I saw the place last night, filled out the application and got it on the spot. I was soooooooo worried that a little thing like credit might make a difference, but they liked my vibe. Ha. Got them fooled. Actually, I think they thought I just looked like an innocent girl, so sometimes looking like this has advantages.
I have a headache, but I get to see M tonight! Ah. I can't begin to say what a blessing he has been in such a short time.
I am sooooooooooo soooooooo bored at work. I just want to get moved and out of Fremont. I want to get started on my new life! Of course, it has already begun inside, but I want the externals to be there, too. I know I'm impatient.
