Tsunami / Lemony Snicket
I am waiting to hear from Kailash to see if he and his family are safe. I am quite concerned because they are in Tamil Nadu. I am on pins and needles until I hear from him! Eeks.
Saw "Lemony Snicket" last night. Heh. Sara has most, if not all, the books, and I really want to read them now. Jim Carrey did really well -- save a few trademark Jim Carrey sneers, etc. Mery Streep was an annoying paranoid hoot.
Had a good birthday and Christmas. Birthday Eve (the 21st) was spent with Dov in SF. Went to Cafe du Nord on Market and saw John Dooooooooooooe (who still has great hair) and M Ward. Fun fun show, except for the migraine which was hanging on from the afternoon. Wednesday (the birthday) I had to go to work and that was a yawn, then that night Dov and I went to Pearl's. Yum. The migraine was still around, but dinner was great. I had a loverly blue cheese polenta atop wilted greens and celery root/artichoke mash. It was divoon. Oh! And the carrot soup to die for -- had clove, cinnamon and nutmeg in it. For dessert, I had an eggnog creme brulee. Rawr.
Must leave work now -- in the pouring rain. Ack. Wish me luck.
