Layers of enamel paint on aluminum, the resulting images are often disturbing and claustrophobic in their detail."

Oh, you all need to read this blog post written by Roger Ebert. Did you know he's lost the ability eat and drink? I didn't know. I'd also forgotten that he's a solid writer. I'd allowed his persona to blind me. Shame on me.

"So that's what's sad about not eating. The loss of dining, not the loss of food. It may be personal, but for, unless I'm alone, it doesn't involve dinner if it doesn't involve talking. I had no idea he's lost the ability to eat and drink. The interesting thing about his piece is that his longing for tastes is as much a longing for memories, experiences, and relationships. Food, of course, is something that can unite people.
