Uggy Muggy Summer - July 31 - August 2

Aug 02, 2006 15:17

The temperature the last 4 days has been 97 to 99 and the heat index has been over 100. So much for mowing the lawn or washing, polishing and waxing the Harley. I did ride Louise Tuesday morning, she and I are now communicating pretty well on the steering issue. Mind you we didn't do anything but walk and she wasn't even sweating except under the saddle and girth, but we had a good morning anyway. I did get into C'ville to get an oil change in the Blazer and do some banking. The bills are paid, some laundry done, a haversack sewn and a new path cleared to the little creek in the woods behind the house. The path just took some brush trimming and I did that Monday evening when it wasn't disgustingly hot. But mostly I drank water and slept. Doing anything at all was exhausting as well as dehydrating. Oh well, its supposed to cool off by this weekend. Hopefully I can get the lawn and Harley done then along with more Louise riding and some general house cleaning. On the bright side, the yellow jackets seem to have been defeated - no activity at any of the nests sites since Sunday afternoon.
