hey, i wrote a poem in creative writing, kind of one last true work of art i'll do in that class.

it's not as good as it could be, but i think if u truly read it and think about each line, you'll find a lot of meaning in it and you'll like it.

please read

From Ick! to Peace

Ick! Ick! Ick!
Why are we born of this sick!?
This mung! This spit! This blood! This this!
Our mothers must love us so
To stretch the life of them ten fold
To give all and take none
Give birth to the trigger of the gun
Only to burn in the beautiful sun
While the moon they call ‘offspring’ runs

So we live as parasites off ripening breasts
And take take take from the maternal treasure chest
Until our infant minds are slain to rest

And we walk tall on our pegs, so thus begins our jest

Our jest to Mah
Our jest to Pah
Our jest to friend
Our jest to all

Our minds are but jokes until our butts sit on black coats

Latency…latency…latency…
Eat, breathe, eat, breathe
Grow, show, show that we grow
Repress all the pain and shame of this Freudian age
But, now, we are free! We have we!
No longer is there only guardians to see
We have eyes for others, we have a classroom to teach
Teach them of our under garments and teeth
Run through the grass! Feed balls to the street!

Uh oh.
(fuck shit ass dick)
I know words I shouldn’t know!
What to do, what to do with this new power so young
These words linger and tingle at the tip of my tongue
I’ve heard also of babies and where they come from
This world is not only the shine of the sun

We learn to keep in the thoughts we want to scream out
And quietly sing when we need to pout
On top of mountains and at a train’s bend
We laugh and we play with the best of our friends

We don’t have much more time till this fairy tale ends

Soon comes our first love, so pure, like ice
With a breeze following her so close behind
There’s nothing more explosive and bright
Than that first kiss under the streetlight
And the first time love is made, glowing the night’s sky

With the one you swore was the love of your life

She walked, you walked, we all end up using our legs
The first time we’re face to face with love’s great escapades
Luckily the string of our future is now cut
Every past tear and smile is thrown up
No rules, no plans, no schedule, no list
Just a school to attend and a simple wish

To end up at the front of this school of fish

Work! Work! Work!
Play even harder!
Don’t waste one second worrying
whether or not you’re the father
open every hand like a beautiful blossoming flower
to reveal a perfectly symmetric condom
it’s all in fun, everything is a game
we’re all smart here, we’re all the same
no pain, no shame, no tame

settle down, settle down
I’ve almost raised a degree
Soon I will be too hot to be
With my new and improved degree

I will have the house, the car, the wife, the trophy
Walking down the isle, approaching
The first day of the rest of my life, they say
We walk off that stage and into an office
The office lives and breathes on its own
It’s alive for the workers, for they have no heart beat

Work! Work!
But not too hard
We only succeed when we do what they need
So, we grow in this monster of business
We forget what it means to have a heart
A soul
Lungs
brain
Trees
Flowers
The sun
The moon
Mother earth
A child’s laugh
The shine of the coast
The glow of the firmament
The rise of a mountain
fall of a fountain
beauty in grass
dirty hands
animals
people
color
love
sex
is
we forget
we forget
we forget
we forget

We gulp the meds that balance our flasks
We spend top-dollar for the most brilliant masks
For years our cubicles feed our facades
A circle we’re trapped spinning around

We tried to place our ears to the ground
To hear the sound
But our heads stuck in place below, now bound

We tie our hips to a wife, with of course strife
But it’s still our home, this woman who’s sown
A dress beneath her knees, for you
And only for you

This monster busy-ness weakens at the sight of this love
It trembles at this colossus of passion
The eyes of monotony form tears when peaking
Into the window, seeing the once-black-suit sneaking

Into the house with flowers behind his back

The train is derailed! The shame has been forgotten!
Those lonely days that felt so rotten
Are now gone with the scent of a woman

Our veins are cleansed when a heart opens its tied ends

Now, those days go by so quick!
There’s no room for an ick! Ick!
Only scratch, dittle, doodle, fiddle
Now, home to my girl! And a home-made nibble!

(oh, such fear in my soul
For I thought a title was my goal
A name-tag to be had
Would make me feel glad?)

So! My girl, my lady
My new born baby!
My lover, her mother
We all live in each other!

Such true love, such true life rains upon me everyday

I tossed that busy loch-ness of a monster
Back to the black sea over yonder
All the time I have wished is now mine
To live and let live all in a line

I watch children grow, I watch lover shrink
I watch rivers flow from Africa to my sink
I hear poets scream! (As if they know)
And politicians lie! (or so polls have shown)
I take the good with the bad, nothing but content
Resides in my head, each day I’m present

The more my skin cranks, cracks, aches
The more I give to this world we take
And the more I lay confined to bed
The easier it is to rest my head
Only time to think
Only time to sigh
Only time to leave
The rest behind
Time to smile
Time to wave
Time to make
Time to pray

All is well, all is well
My song was sung
My book was read
My little girl
‘sbeen sent to bed
Now I shall
Tap the light
I’ve fought the fight
And won the right
To lay beside
This love of mine
It’s my time
It’s my time

Peace! Peace! Peace!

Our lives are but stories, when the end is told, the meaning pours forth!
