Indian food that didn't come out of a jar

A work friend gave me this recipe for murgh makhani aka butter chicken. So far my idea of "making Indian food" consists of opening a jar of Patak's sauce and cooking it with some chicken and dumping it on rice. I *love* murgh makhani and so when I saw the Patak's brand butter chicken sauce, I tried it, and was immediately underwhelmed. So, I tried to make it myself.

The recipe I got from my friend was perfect!

The text of the recipe isn't the easiest to parse through while cooking. I ended up adding more spices than were required, especially paprika. I didn't add the optional raisins. The sauce was very flavorful and it was pretty easy to make. We're definitely making it again, it's much better than the stuff that comes out of a jar.
