My amazing girlfriend bought me this awesome ride for my birthday...
And I decided to do this, this afternoon...
Yes, it is as far as it looks. I did 24 miles beginning at 270 and the chain of rock bridges all the way to the St. Louis Arch and then returned. I armed myself with water and mace (the rivefront tends to cruise through some bad neighborhoods) I was fine for most of and would say that I only wanted to die towards the end...like around mile 20. I thought my legs were going to fall off. That second wind happened only when I saw my car in the parking lot on my return. But in all honesty it felt awesome to be outside with my bike, just riding. And cyclists are kind of crazy, they sing and wave and are kind of awesome. Before I left I stopped by this bike shop to pick up a helmet and I got this cool book that shows you all the bike paths/trails/parks in Missouri and Kansas. I'm so pumped for this summer.
