Hope is damned inconvenient. The election of Barack Obama and the departure of Cheney/Bush give many of us a feeling of new found optimism. The crash of the economy has pointed out much of the folly of the greed of the so called middle-class and those who once felt themselves blissfully secure in their place in the universe are no longer so certain they are masters of their domain.
What does this mean to me on a personal level? That all the snarky, satirical, formerly insightful statements I was hoping to make with shows like Mudville, my dystopia play, and others...are all pretty obvious and frequently irrelevant now. Gee thanks for the hope and concrete efforts to make the world a better place, Obama. Douchebag. Utopia sucks.
