Options.
Tonight i was forced to make a decision with only two options. i could:
a.) lie to a police officer and drive home (to my parent's house)
or
b.) tell to the truth to a police officer, sit in my car for another 3 hours, and then have to drive back to my apartment.
granted, i suppose there were a few other options. like gunning the engine and plowing through the roadblock, or leaving my car there and getting some ice cream, or something.
Anyway, because of some accidents over in Clines Corners, i-40 eastbound and hwy 66 from ABQ were closed. not just to through-traffic, but also to people who live in edgewood, tijeras, cedar crest, and on S-14. Despite the fact that the roads were clear to tijeras, and then only mildly snowpacked on N-14. Despite the fact that Clines Corners is MILES east of tijeras and cedar crest. You were not allowed through with 4WD, you were not allowed through with chains, you were not allowed through for any logical reasons.... but you were allowed through if you claimed to live in Carnuel. I suppose that is a prime example of our taxpayer's money at work; saving poor drivers from themselves.
I wonder how long the 10+ police vehicles will remain at that intersection blocking traffic. Don't they have better stuff to do?
