The family reunion for my grandmother's side of the family was yesterday (Sunday). I love my family.
Jen and I failed in the horseshoe tournament, however, we lost by only four points to the team that ended up surprising everyone by making it all the way to 2nd place.
I took third place in the Euchre tournament. In the final round, I was 7 points behind my grandfather for third place, and I was facing him. We beat him and his partner, mostly by my efforts, and won 10-2. Which for all you math whizzes out there, gave me one more point than him to bump him out of third place and earn me $10.00.
The reunion was at Seven Lakes State Park and it just happened to be the weekend of this big hot-air baloon race as well. Sunday wasn't the day of the race, but it was still a big launch day and at around 7:00 p.m., shortly before everyone would really need to start packing up, they all arrived to launch. A total of 15 hot-air balloons launched within sight of our pavillion. Three, in fact, actually launched on the hillside right in front of all of us. It was really cool to watch them fill these things up, use their massive flamethrower to take it up off the ground, and the scene of all 15 of these things floating away with a gorgeous sunset for a backdrop was breathtaking.
Anyways. Can't wait until next year.
