My art opening last night was great! There were a ton of people in attendance- all with very impressive resumes, deans of universities, editors of publications, curators of big museums, big shot scientists, and they all absolutely loved my work and talk! Consequently this made me extremely nervous given the fact that I had no idea what I was going to talk about til about 20 minutes beforehand. I ended up writing my talk down just so I could be less nervous, but I think it went well. I got a few minutes of it on video before my camera died. Also got a few crappy pictures- there was a pro photographer there so hopefully can post some better ones soon! My best friend from when I was 3-4 years old growing up in Princeton, NJ showed up- we have kept in touch over the years and she lives in College Park now- and that was awesome to see her, as well as one of my friends from college and a friend from the metal scene and his girlfriend. I had some really interesting discussions that hopefully will lead to a lot of painting sales, more exhibitions, and the cover of a magazine! The catering was absolutely insane, and I never plan on getting married but if I ever did I'm sure the catering wouldn't be anywhere near this nice. All in all it was a great evening, I just wish that more of my close friends and family had made an effort to be there because that was kind of disappointing. I certainly felt loved with all the nice comments and messages people sent me on FB though so thanks for that!
Here are a few minutes of my talk if anyone is interested... I am a huge dork if you didn't get that memo, btw... I was so nervous.
