While I was there on Day 0 (Thursday), I didn't take any pictures that day.
These are the pics I'll be posting for Friday and in the wee hours of Friday night/Saturday morning.
We'll start with my traditional "view from my hotel room" shot: Hilton, Room 447.
With a bit of luck, I got my Waldo-finding done quickly and was able to spend the rest of the convention looking for other costumes.
Must be a bad situation if two Doctors have to be around to deal with it!
Yes, that is a Sharknado costume.
Kitty & Lockheed
Cosplaying as Dr. Sheldon Cooper in costume as the Doppler effect.
Who would have thought to dress as this Marvel character?
This was the line on the opening day to get into the AmericasMart building to see the dealers and exhibitors... which I took after I'd completely crawled through 1/2 of the first floor's tables and visited the entire second floor's offerings.
I wound up with a lot of pictures of the back of this lady's top hat. She had a "press" ribbon on her badge and was one of the roving photographers who kept getting directly in my shots. I didn't mind her as much as the others, though.
Some awesome shirts there. Tiny wears the same thing every year and the man in green was the one capturing it all on video to project on screens so that most of the room could see what they wouldn't have been able to see because he was in the way.
An example of a picture of that woman's top hat.
And another, with some submission holds applied in the background.
Grimacing from the exertion, or just constipated? You decide.
Thumbtacks can be seen behind the video camera operator and one of the con's staff photographers.
Manchild rolled out of the ring after landing on the tacks. Unfortunately, a few loose tacks came with him and later caused trouble for at least one young woman dressed in a costume that included no footwear (dumb move -- always have footwear when walking where the fen have been, or to a wrestling event).
The steel cage was assembled, and the first wrestler was about to enter it.
Slim J was wearing the crimson mask.
Some of these wrestlers were immobilized at this point...
...their opponents had zip-tied their wrists to the cage.
They were released by a later entrant and then Slim J got to fly again.
Late night traffic in the Marriott's lobby levels.
Angela & Richard (with unassociated minions in the background).
I don't think the woman in the center is wearing any product associated with those corporate mascots.
