GenCon 2013 Pictures: Day 1
This is the first day's worth of pictures from this year's trip to Indianapolis for GenCon.
We begin with the customary shot from the hotel room's window (SpringHill Suites, room 236)
While I waited for Jonathan to buy a generic ticket, I watched them set up this giant-sized Robo Rally board.
Jonathan was somewhere in the Event Registration line, and I got a lucky shot of a Chell cosplayer through a gap in the crowd.
TMNT's Raphael rendered as a huge baloon animal.
Jonathan's first exposure to Cardhalla.
Standing in one corner of the dealers' hall, about 15 minutes after it opened.
Just like last year, this booth had a dalek and a TARDIS, and provided a variety of photo ops for cosplayers.
Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Third (but you can call her Dot Warner) and the Fourth Doctor.
Jonathan saw Geek Chic furniture in person for the first time.
corone's footwear may not be practical, but it is probably comfortable.
On seeing each other in person for the first time in a few years, wickedthought couldn't help but ham it up for the head-mounted camera.
If I win the lottery, I'm ordering custom furniture from Geek Chic and then a new house to put it in.

A gap opened up and I got a quick shot of Power Girl, and then the crowd cut me off from any chance of getting a better shot.
I do hope none of these crew members came to any misfortune on this away mission.
The demo team at this booth were each in different costumes. This woman was crossplaying Thor.
Joe needed to take a break on the walk back to Marriott Place for lunch. Jonathan didn't bring a bag to carry the stuff he was buying, so he had to purchase one in the hall.
I took photos of Jonathan to use for Jail & Bail, but I didn't see them there this year.
Back in the hall after lunch, and more cosplayers.
That is the best Axis and Allies board I've ever seen.
One awesome costume, and a sample of the line to get the beta of the upcoming Star Wars game from FFG.
Borderlands even has cosplay options for kids.
The gears on the chest turned.

Thanks to the Eleventh Doctor, fezzes have become such a nerd/geek fashion trend that this booth existed.
This little Spidey cosplayer went berserk while dual wielding foam replicas of medieval weapons.
