I still have not yet heard a doctor give me a definitive statement as to which type of diabetes I have. They keep hedging their bets with statements like, "As far as I can tell, you're type 1," and "The test indicates an 85% likelihood that you're a type 2." Those are from two different doctors, of course. My body type is closer to a type 2, my GAD antibodies are more likely type 2, as are my cholesterol and triglyceride levels and age of onset, but the ketoacidosis is much more common in type 1. My blood insulin level, when monitored at the hospital in August, was inconclusive.
At least my endocrinologist lowered my insulin dosages today. I hope this means there will be fewer bouts of borderline hypoglycemia ahead.
