After work, went to Michael's and bought a styrofoam ball, 8" diameter, to paint Muria on. Once I've got that, I'll make a Mercator projection map. I'm not going to bother with a Peters or Gall projection. I'm not worried about equal area.
Just in case you're curious, the conversion for mapping a latitude φ, longitude λ coordinate (in radians) to x, y coordinates for a Mercator projection is given by:
x = λ - λ0
where λ0 is the longitude of the point you're choosing to be the center line of the map; λ0 = 0 for the prime meridian.
y = ln[tan((π + 2φ)/4)]
Then I watched Pirates of the Caribbean and The Court Jester.
