Right, so. I'm going to summer school at UT Dallas, and presumably staying there for some time and getting a B.S. and maybe a fast-track masters in Cognitive Science. Apologies to my friends at UNT, but I have to go where my major is. The same goes to you UT Austin people who were expecting me in the spring, but we might still see about that one.
I'm quite excited. The program I'm in is good, though nobody seems to know what it is. For those of you whose minds are shrouded in mystery,
look upon my major and despair.
I'm still considering a couple minors, particularly in philosophy. It might mess with my ability to do the fast track thing, but my classes look to be more "computational" than "philosophical" though each have their place within such a discipline.
Also, I would like to point out that today I found a helpless turtle and invested a significant portion of my day in introducing him into a hospitable environment. Those of you who have seen Blade Runner should feel comfort in knowing that I am probably not a replicant. I named him Leopold, after a certain Leopold Bloom, though I now consider this a presumptuous gesture given the nature of my relationship with the turtle in question.
