Selphie spotted Quistis soon after Irvine had been... distracted by his new "friend". She made her way over, greeting her friend with an enthusiastic, "Quisty!"
Quistis smiled. What else could one do when confronted with Selphie? The girl was filled with a vibrant energy that seemed to withstand all barrage of negativity, no matter what it was, and bounce back with a positive outlook. It made her almost feel... Less than human in the face of it, for being negative or miring herself in her troubles
( ... )
Selphie grinned. "Of course!" she chirped. Selphie enjoyed parties. "It'd be better if I knew where everybody was," she added. "You're lucky you're tall! I can find you in a crowd." Rinoa was trickier...
Lucky? Quistis had never really known whether it was a 'lucky' thing to be tall when you were a woman.
"I'm sure they're all here somewhere." Here eyes swept the room, resting on the colorful swirl of dresses and the somber flash of uniforms. "We can always walk around and try to find them."
A couple hurried past them, whispers and hushed laughter left in their wake. The ball was a celebration of those graduating SeeD, but it was also an event where relationships were tantamount. Was she disappointed that she'd never played the game? It didn't really matter, she supposed.
"You did an excellent job with the Garden Festival, Selphie," she complimented, pulling away from unwelcome thoughts. The girl deserved the praise anyway. She worked so hard to give the students something to look forward to every year.
Selphie grinned. "Thanks!" she replied. "Everyone did a great job. It wasn't just me, of course," she reminded Quistis humbly. Though, of course, Selphie knew she was the leader and really was responsible for a good share of the work. Selphie knew the success or failure of the festival fell largely to her. But she also knew a good leader couldn't be an attention hog. "Maybe next year, you can help!" she added cheerfully. "I'm hoping to get a few new recruits tonight. This is a great place to meet people in a good mood!"
