Kamala Harris looked and sounded (I am cautious not to say she was*) about 250% smarter than her usual cackling sorority halfwit public image.
Trump was caught off-guard, it seems. He toned down his usual persona expecting to look charitable against a moron; instead, he came out as defensive and weak.
* I am totally unsure if the smart and caring mama-Kamala image is as staged as a dumb drunk bimbo-Kamala; it could be that both are carefully calculated and rehearsed for different audiences. I tend to believe that there is no "real" Kamala; there are multiple roles played out in different circumstances by a talented actor guided by a team of highly skilled professional scriptwriters.
Obviously, Trump is pretty much the same no matter what - big, awkward, often erroneous, skilled in real life, but getting lost in theatrical decorations of modern American politics.
With all the traditional media machinery and some modern social media platforms working against him, imagining him in the White House again is a tough proposition.
Even if he wins in raw numbers.
Imagine 2020, with all the tricks applied (and admitted to be applied), only more intense, with nothing off the table. Assassination is being tried, why not go full Lenin-Stalin mode?
