I woke up this morning at 1:30 to the sound of Rachel puking. Without going into details it took almost an hour to clean up the whole mess. I think she's thrown up about 6 times since then but I'm starting to give up on counting. I think I managed to get all of 2 hours of sleep. She had an orthodontist appointment this morning which obviously had to be missed, but it's been rescheduled for Tuesday.
Last weekend Nicolle decided she wanted to have some friends over so she cleaned her room...I mean really cleaned it. I've got about 8 garbage bags full of stuff to take to the Good Will or Salvation Army. Her closet is all but empty, and it's only containing the things she actually wears now. I've contemplated having a garage sale this summer, but where I live, they never do very well. Also, I'm not one to spend a lot of money on name brand clothing and the stuff is worn enough that I don't imagine it's really worth a whole lot. So I guess that means I either donate it to charity or have a big old bon fire!! As cold as it is today, a fire sounds kind of nice! =0
School is going well, but of course, it's cut into any free time that I had. I started a Jodi Picoult book and might as well plan on finishing it in a few months. I did finish reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. It's a fairly short book so it went quickly and it was a really touching story.
Rachel's going to have to pick up her reading pace for this next quarter. They're really pushing them to read more books now and she'll be required to do 5 book reports by the end of February. Yikes! The kids' report cards looked pretty good. Nicolle got all As again but she's been struggling with her math classes. I help her as much as I can but some of this stuff is going beyond what I can remember. Rachel had all As and Bs and one C in health which I was pretty much expecting. Her health class was more like a biology class and I knew her test scores were pretty low, so I'm just glad it didn't go lower than a C.
We're starting to get geared up for some travelling again- Branson is less than 3 weeks away, but I sure hope it warms up some by then. Road trips are always more fun when you're not freezing!
