A funny thing happened today. I was at the mall because I had a 7:00 hair appointment and decided to browse a bit first. I went to the Hallmark shop to see if they had the reindeer Webkin that Rachel wants for Christmas. It just so happens they had some in stock. This is something my mom was planning on buying for her, so I decided to give mom a ring just to let her know where I found some.
First I called her at home. No answer. I figured she was probably going out for dinner. So next I tried her cell phone.
She answered and after the normal hellos, I said, "Where are you right now?"
She said, "At the mall". I'm thinking wow!
Then I say, "So am I! Where are you in the mall?"
And she says, "Right outside the Hallmark shop."
So I lean around to the entrance and who comes walking into the store? My mom. And she sees me and we both bust out laughing.
Even funnier? We did this same thing last year at the Camelot gift shop when we were both buying dragon figurines for Nicolle. I didn't even tell my mom I was going to buy any but we both showed up at the same place, same time, to buy the same dragon.
I told her we really must think alike more than we're willing to admit. It's kind of freaky.
I had my Tastefully Simple party last Thursday night and did ok- not great, but we had fun. Several people I was counting on showing up couldn't be there. My sister and sister-in-law were both stuck at work. And it just so happens that one school was having parent-teacher conferences while another was having a band concert, so three of my good friends couldn't make it. I had a few outside sales though so that helped and I managed to get a few free things out of the deal.
We, or should I say Rachel, decided to put up the Christmas tree tonight. Of course, we all helped but it was her idea. I figured since this was a relatively calm weekend, now might be a good time to do it. So our tree is up early this year, but since I'm in Christmas mode already I'm good with it.
