Gilmore Girls- Don't read if you still plan on watching tonight's episode

I can't believe there's only one more episode and then my show will be finished forever. It seems like it has to end too abruptly- there just isn't time in one hour to finish up everything they need to do ( Read more... )

I literally got teary eyed at the end of the show last night and when Dave asked what was wrong I was all blubbery and said "There's only an hour left and I am not going to see Luke and Lorelai have their middle!"

I blame ASP for making the new writers waste the better part of the season trying to undo the catastrophy she left them with. I hate her!

I guess I can't hate ASP too much since she's the one who actually started the show, but it certainly did take a nose-dive in season 6. I think it could have easily been fixable had it not gone so far as Lorelei and Chris getting married. That was just a big no-no and it made going in reverse much, much more difficult.

I haven't been watching this season. Tuesdays are just too busy for me, but I've been keeping up on the internet with what's happening. After a while, I'll probably grab the DVDs. The original creators left at the end of this last season, and the new people are doing okay, but it is probably time for it to end. All things must come to an end.

I agree that the show has run it's course, but it really could use a few more episodes to tie up loose ends. It feels like they're suddenly having to rush through it, and I think a lot will still be left unresolved.

I agree! I've got the first six seasons, so you bet I'll get this one too. After this show I'll probably have to concentrate on my Northern Exposure DVDs for a while. I think I'll appreciate the GG ones more after a break.

I'm very sad that the show is ending and will miss it so much, but I also think this is the right time to end it. I don't think it would have been too realistic for someone as ambitious as Rory to stay in the same area any longer, and it would have been weird to have the show taking place in two not-so-close locations. But I wish we could have a few more episodes this season to really see Luke and Lorelai get back together.

I agree about the proposal. Rory's so young, and although they discussed "factoring each other in," that's not really what he did; he went and planned this whole life - new town, job, and house - without letting her be part of the process. I know he meant well, but I think she would have ended up resenting that she didn't get to make any of the choices...

And yes, thank goodness for the DVDs! I'll miss Stars Hollow so much!

Yes, like I told another person, I do think the show has run its course, but they're now having to rush into the ending. They had talked about maybe doing a half-season to get some things resolved, but obviously that's not happening. Leaving Rory jobless (most likely) and Luke and Lorelei with only a simmering relationship isn't really what I had in mind. Hopefully, they'll surprise me and I won't be as disappointed as I think I might be. I'm just relieved Rory will be moving on without Logan. You're right, he was a jerk for not including her in the planning process. But I had waited so long for the perfect romantic Luke/Lorelei wedding and now that'll never happen.
