log: a bedtime story

When: Backdated to his first night after returning from the Thousand Sunny
Warning: Gokudera's mouth, probably some fluff... but no sex. STILL

"I've been reading." Gokudera shrugs and looks up over the rims of his glasses at Miranda. Those pants look a little weird with the top but he isn't going to say anything. He assumes if he does, he'll get an ugly look. "And he's not under the bed." Because he'd watched the cat crawl under there and was pretty sure she hadn't left that dark area.

He eyes the soot spirit with a small amount of jealousy before looking back down at the text, hoping she didn't catch it. "Under the bed, being difficult." Gokudera turns the page, barely even having to read considering he's memorized the whole book. There are even some notes written down on pieces of paper crammed between the back pages that suggest he's studied the text in depth.

Gokudera's features quickly soften as he looks down at the small creature. "Hey there little guy," He smiles and holds out a hand to him.

Uri has no problem whatsoever with greeting the exorcist. She runs out, bumping her mottled head against Miranda's thigh while purring loudly.

He's smiling, watching Ruß in fascination as he rolls around. "Amazing," he breathes with a small smile. But when the creature runs up, the teen jerks suddenly, eyes wide. "H-Hey!!" Gokudera slaps a hand up his arm in an attempt to capture the creature, hiding fear behind surprise. "My shirt!!"

Gokudera's box weapon watches as Miranda turns her attention away, opening her mouth to meow loudly in displeasure until she catches sight of a moving lump in her master's shirt. The kitten sinks low on the bed, ears down and eyes wide as she creeps closer.

"Ah!!" Gokudera flails about, half attempting to swat at the small soot spirit invading his shirt and just plain flailing. The little feet tickle, so it's hard to hold still anyways, and he'd rather flail to hide the twitches. When he hears a squeak, he stops, one hand on his side and the other raised uselessly above his head. Miranda's command has made him pause but he goes all the more rigid as he watches Uri. "D-Don't even think about it, Uri!"

With a loud meow of excitement, the kitten launches itself at Gokudera's head, claws at the ready to catch Ruß.

"GAHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Gokudera lifts his arms up to block his face, but Uri lands on the top of his head, grinning at her new prey as her claws bury into the teenager's scalp.

Uri struggles, squirming away from Miranda and diving after Ruß. "Uri!" He reaches out, grabbing the kitten's tail to stop her.

She moves on, swatting at the soot spirit and Gokudera is forced to let up on his grip. So he dives after her, attempting to snatch her and landing on his belly with his arms out.

Uri jerks suddenly, fur standing up as she screeches and jumps back, startled. She had thought this was some kind of toy! Why was it fighting back?

Gokudera grabs his box weapon and then his box. Without a seconds hesitation, the cat jumps back in, knowing this isn't some battle and that the enemy is definitely not normal. "Stupid..." The teen sets the box on his table and scratches his stinging scalp.

"She was pretty excited." Gokudera says, sounding almost happy about what had happened despite how much the top of his head is stinging. The teen gives her a shrug "I've had worse." Much better than when his box weapon is mature and decide it wants to bury claws in his face.
