(no subject)
Man, I'm really slipping on updates. :/ Oh well, better late than never!
Last friday's game had a long, tough combat...lots of baddies who could daze, which REALLY limits one's options! I actually spent a whole turn changing stances at one point. Minor action...aaand done for the round. Oof! But we prevailed. :)
We got up early on saturday, slathered on the sunscreen, and headed to Schlitterbahn with Ip and Pacer et al. We carpooled with Guardian and yattered away on the way there. It was hot, but the water was cold, so it all balanced out! We went around some of the circular pools and then got in line for one of the big rides. I don't think any of us really believed it when the sign said 'Three and a half hour wait,' but yeah...it was a three and a half hour wait. Oy! It was a fun ride, but honestly, by the time it was done I was all worn out from the extended standing and baking in the sun. No regrets, but in the future I'm gonna stick to shorter lines!
Sunday was a little confused; Fades figured he'd be at the church for a long time so I decided to go have a springroll at Kim Phung and read while I waited, but then I remembered that KP has rolled back its hours on sunday. I was really hungry so I went over to the Omletry instead, but I was only able to finish half my omlet. But then Fades called, so I told him to come finish it for me! ...and then he was stuck there longer, and I was starting to feel guilty about tying up one of their tables for so long. (that place is buis-ee on sundays!) But Fades finally made it, and omlet was eaten, and all was good!
...mostly. We'd arranged to have lunch with Quinn that day and we totally forgot. Gah. *headthump* So stupid!
That evening Usb brought his doggie by, Tofu and the semi-snoozing Lhexa watched 'Youth in Revolt' and 'Bound.' Fun stuff. Neither film is perfect--I disliked the ending of YiR--but the butch actress in Bound is hottt. I'm glad I got a chance to share that one, it's fun if a wee bit gory!
