1. This is one of the few stories that are explored from Holmes' perspective as opposed to Watson's. Do you think the POV changes anything?
2. How do we feel about Victor Trevor?
3. We have here a very small glimpse into the life and times of a young Sherlock Holmes. Speculate a little. Do you see any progression of character from his roots to his present? Have his methods changed at all?
4. This particular mystery is fairly violent. Why do you think that is?
5. Do you think there's any analysis to be made about the relationship between fathers and sons in this story? If so, what?
