NAME: Digby
BREED: Charmeleon
GENDER: ♂, Male
PERSONALITY: Digby is a rather passive pokémon and takes the world with a pinch of salt. He's quite happy to sit in the sun, or even in shelter in the rain, and sleep away the day - and the night. If something happens he tends to be the observer to it and doesn't get involved. He's also rather quiet and rarely speaks, in complete contrast to Chuck. However, Digby sometimes takes up a sense of purpose and tends to go out on his own, or follows Ned all over the city in secret even when he's not supposed to. He doesn't care too much for poffins and let alone pies, but appreciates and understands Ned's talent for making them as people and pokémon alike tend to flock to buy them. Digby is completely loyal to Ned and has never left his side in a crisis, even if he tends to be a fairly freelance pokémon as he wanders. He would never abandon Ned if he needed him - in fact, once when Ned was on a trip and pokémon were unallowed, Digby tended to follow him anyway. Despite his complete and utter loyalty to Ned, Digby cannot actually touch his trainer - as, for some yet unknown reason, Ned is apparantly allergic to several species of pokémon, the Charmander family being one of them.
HISTORY: Digby, as a Charmander, has been with Ned ever since he was nine and sent off to Jubilife City, as an present from his mother for his tenth birthday that he, obviously, never managed to receive from her. He was nicknamed rather uncreatively by Ned after reading a book and choosing the first word he saw. Digby then stayed with Ned all the way through his school life, and when Ned took out into the world on his own, Charmander evolved into Charmeleon. When Ned set up his own business industry, Digby was the one to usually help out with the problems with the gas going off regularly, as he is, after all, a fire breathing pokémon. Digby has a pokéball but never uses it and is usually wandering around if left to his own devices; the sole reason he has not been evolved into Charizard by Ned is that a Charmealon is easy to fit into a flat, whilst a Charizard isn't.
Poke!Digby is based upon Ned's dog, Digby.
NAME: Chuck
BREED: Nidorina
GENDER: ♀, Female
PERSONALITY: Chuck is feisty, and never sits still. She's always on the go and wants to be in everything, and is very well known with customers since she's usually the one poking her head into things (quite literally). She has raw talent for battling but this has never really been used by Ned, who doesn't usually battle - but she fortunately also does have a secret love for poffins, which Ned is a genius at making, so Chuck is completely contented in having no opportunities in battle. Even for a Nidoran she was quite pretty, and this has transfered on to being a Nidorina - even if it's just Ned who calls her cute. Alike Digby she's very loyal to Ned, having been with him for a long time, and if called for would rush to defend him and what he works for. Chuck is one breed of pokémon that Ned can touch without a reaction.
HISTORY: Ned was never much the trainer type - he was all too much against losing or any act of violence and whilst being cooped up in a school instead of being allowed out to train, there wasn't much option on getting better or forming a team; however, one day when he was out and was around about thirteen, he spotted a Nidoran(female). The Nidoran was cute, sweet, and immediately sent a pang of sadness through him as it reminded him of his childhood nextdoor neighbour (and consequently crush), Charlotte, who he'd called Chuck. Before Ned even knew he what he was doing, he caught the Nidoran and took it back to the dorms with him, much to the delight of the teachers who had never seen Ned take much interest in catching pokémon at all. Unfortunately for them, this was just a one off thing. Chuck has henceforth stayed with Ned ever since, and even if she does have a keen interest and talent for battling, doesn't get to use that very often but gladly helps out in Ned's pie shop. Said Nidoran evolved into Nidorina when Ned was seventeen, in one of his few bouts of training his pokémon up a little when he moved out into the world on his own.
Poke!Chuck is kind of a mish-mash of Chuck and Olive's personality, and named after Chuck, because, well, I can see Ned doing that just to be sweet.
NAME: Messenger
BREED: Taillow
GENDER: ♂, Male
PERSONALITY: Messenger is a bird with a mission - to get its cargo delivered on time. Whenever Ned has something to send, Messenger is there, ready and waiting. It's extremely eager and it's still a fairly young pokémon, easily excited by just about anything, and can be lured into flying even longer distances with the simple promise of a poffin. Messenger very rarely sits still, which tends to irritate Digby more than anyone as Messenger tends to just hop about on the spot than actually move around. He's also very loud. Surprisingly, Messenger is also a very heavy sleeper and when asleep, is so quiet you wouldn't even know he exists.
HISTORY: Another outcome of being poorly nicknamed, Messenger was given to Ned as a present from Emerson. Ned isn't sure if he wants Messenger to be used as correspondence in detective work or just as something he can use however he wants, but he's taken the inititive and found a job that Messenger does well. Messenger is the 'messenger' to Ned in the sense he goes round collecting delivery notices, fliers, and so forth to the people in the city, and brings back request orders. True, email is more appropriate for longer based orders, but if it's someone in the city Messenger is always there, ready and waiting, perhaps having just (unintentionally, of course) cut the wires to the computer again. Emerson has since said Ned should change the name away from Messenger, but Ned's only other suggestion was 'Deliverer', which was even worse, so the name has stuck.
